Curaçao Digital Nomad Visa – The latest information


Curaçao is among those few countries in the world with digital nomad visas already in place.

It was launched as Temporary Stay Permit for Digital Nomads/Remote Workers in February 2021.

Since then, the country has been enticing hundreds of remote workers, digital nomads, hibernators, and investors of all nationalities. 

 Who Can Apply for the Digital Nomad Visa for Curaçao?

The Curaçao digital nomad visa is available for remote workers, digital nomads, or investors.

A remote worker with an employment contract with a company in a foreign country, a businessman with business outside Curaçao, or a freelancer offering services to clients in a foreign country can apply for the visa. 

Also known as the At Home in Curaçao (@Home in Curaçao) program, this visa allows digital nomads to live and work from the dreamy island for six months.

One of the perks of applying for a visa is that you do not need to pay local taxes on your income. 

Curaçao Digital Nomad Visa Requirements

Digital nomads need to meet the stipulated requirements set by the government to be eligible for the visa.

As for the Curaçao digital nomad visa, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • The passport must be valid for the duration of the stay in Curaçao.
  • The applicant must be a remote worker, businessman, or freelancer.
  • The applicant must buy international health insurance coverage in Curaçao.
  • The applicant must have a clean criminal record.
  • The applicant must present proof of accommodation. 

How to Apply for the Curaçao Digital Nomad Visa

Applying for the @Home in Curaçao Visa is easy and simple. The applicants need to follow the following steps:

Step 1: Get the essential documents

First and foremost, the applicants must ensure that they possess the essential documents. Applicants must gather the following documents before applying for the visa:

  • Valid passport for at least 6 months
  • Copy of bio page of the passport
  • Passport photos
  • Proof of payment of fees
  • Proof of a clean criminal record
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of health insurance
  • Return Plane Ticket from Curaçao
  • Motivation Letter

All these documents must be scanned and ready to upload before submitting the application. 

Step 2: Submit the application and pay the fee

Now, the applicant can submit the application online. This is the official site to apply for the @HOME in Curaçao program. The applicant is required to pay the fee via bank transfer, which costs $294 per applicant. 

One thing to note is that the fee is non-refundable. The applicant must include proof of payment while submitting the application. Applicants apply in Dutch, English, or Spanish. Families can also apply for this visa, and there is no family bundle fee.

Step 3: Wait for Approval

The last step is to wait for the approval of the application by the government. The processing time for this digital nomad visa is about 14 days.

The visa holders can work in the country for six months with the possibility to renew after 6 months.

Note that the digital nomads will not become a resident after a year.
